Hello, Hello!
Thank you so much for visiting my site and browsing images from my 10 years of photographing seniors and families. I am so lucky to love what I do, and I want you to walk away from a session with me feeling like we’ve captured real memories. It’s always my goal to get those big smiles for the camera, but it’s the laughs and authentic expressions shared between family members that I want to capture most. I love warm tones, movement and the moments that weren’t styled for the camera but caught in between. I use prompts and questions to keep things loose and fun. My proofing galleries are HUGE because I have trouble culling my images. Which means I leave that trouble to you in hopes that you’ll recognize the moments and expressions that mean the most. I’m certainly happy to choose images for you, but I’ve found that most of my clients are excited to have so much to choose from.
Meet the Family
I share a whole lot of life with these three, and I’m so grateful to have them to keep me moving, laughing and trying new things.
Erik is my high school sweetheart and the funniest person I know. He teaches Culinary Arts at McKinley High School and has given me the gift of rarely having to worry about what to cook for dinner. (I’ve heard that’s the worst part of adulthood, and so I’m aware of how lucky I am.) If you live in Canton, you’ve most certainly seen him on daily runs that take him all over the neighborhoods we happily call home.
Ellie is the oldest of our two girls. She has her dad’s big, beautiful eyeballs and sense of humor. She has my hair and steals my clothes. But this kid is one of a kind, and I love how kind, caring, smart, artistic and wise she is for her age. Her dad and I love to scare, torment and watch scary movies with her, and she enjoys those same things with us. We helped create the monster, and now we’re enjoying her constant nonsense.
Kaiya came into our lives via adoption right before her first birthday. She is a firecracker in every way. Never stops moving. Really LOUD! Loves to be teased and chased and wrestled. Will eat absolutely anything, including dried insects, and she loves the fact that it totally grosses her sister out. Kaiya has battled a host of health issues (stemming from a condition called PANS/PANDAS) that have caused pretty severe pain, discomfort and anxiety, but she’s the toughest person I know. I am incredibly grateful to this job of mine for providing the flexibility to take care of her changing needs and the means to pay for the specialized therapies and doctors that our insurance doesn’t cover. We won’t quit until her pain is gone.
And then there’s me. I love exploring new cities, watching thunderstorms roll in and going to the beach in the summer with my parents, siblings, nieces and nephew. (We always have a blast no matter what we’re doing together.) I’m obsessed with our cats Nigel and Ollie. Halloween, house plants and long rides to absolutely nowhere are also my jam.
I’m lucky to be meet so many amazing people with this awesome job of mine, and I’d love to get acquainted with you and your family. If you like what you see of my style and work philosophy, let’s capture this time in your life. These moments are brief, but they are yours forever when we preserve them in portraits.
Please call or message me with questions, if you have them, and when you’re ready to schedule your portrait session, know that I’m ready and excited to capture YOUR moment, YOUR milestone, YOUR life…
Jamie
Seriously, though, how amazing is Kristi of K Mizell Photography?!?!?
